Message from Our President

Dear Colleagues and Friends –
As President of the AANP for the 2023-2024 academic year, I am privileged to represent our entire Neuropathology family! We have grown in so many ways, having welcomed over the years our talented and diverse trainee classes, as well as our valuable neuroscience allies, as participants in all facets of the Association’s missions of high-integrity practice, teaching, and research in our specialty.
We have survived and thrived through challenges presented by the recent pandemic, and in so doing have increased the quality of and attendance at our annual meetings. In this regard, I am thrilled to be working with membership at all levels in planning our 100th gathering in June 2024 – it is certain to be a momentous celebration, as we look backward at all we have accomplished, while gazing ahead to a bright future. Appropriately, the symbol and motivating theme of the Centennial meeting is “Janus”! In addition to our usual impactful plenary and scientific sessions, we will have special events to properly memorialize this auspicious occasion.
I look forward to working with all of you, and with our essential collaborators at AOE, in service of our beloved Association!
Rebecca Folkerth, MD
AANP President
