Message from Our President

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am honored to serve as the President of AANP in 2022-2023. Throughout my career, I have been benefitted from being a member of this outstanding society. As a trainee member, I was fortunate to enjoy the mentorship from many leaders at AANP. Later as a member of AANP, I have been tremendously blessed to have the generous support from many colleagues to build my career as a physician-scientist.
The past two years have witnessed many challenges due to the pandemic. Thanks to the efforts from my predecessor Dr. Beatriz Lopez, the AOE team, and many colleagues who devoted their time and energy to serve in various capacity at AANP, our society continues to thrive despite these challenges. As a team, we have overcome many obstacles to keep our society strong and carry on its mission without interruption.
The 2022-2023 tenure is particularly special because it marks the 99th anniversary for AANP – an incredible milestone for any organization. As the President, I am committed to continue the tradition at AANP and to make AANP as the center of gravity for our trainees, members, and colleagues. Our goal is to grow our society by recruiting more trainees to AANP and nurture them to become the next generation of leaders in neuropathology. We will build inclusive and integrated platforms that are welcoming to all the colleagues from all disciplines in neuropathology. Guided by these principles, we are aspired to put together an exciting program for our 99th Annual Meeting. I look forward to welcoming everyone to the beautiful Monterey Bay in California (June 8-11, 2023)!
Eric J. Huang, MD, PhD
